Pride Month celebrations have taken center stage around the world throughout June as the coronavirus pandemic abates and vaccination rates continue to rise.

From parades to community rallies, Reuters was there to cover the LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations in cities worldwide.

Earlier in June, Reuters detailed how New York's lesbian bars have emerged from pandemic woes and the journey of lesbian magazine 'Curve' as it's profiled in the new documentary 'Ahead of the Curve."

Amid Pride events, Reuters covered U.S. President Joe Biden signing legislation on Friday, designating the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, a national memorial to honor the 49 people killed in a 2016 mass shooting, and urged Congress to pass laws explicitly protecting civil rights of LGBTQ+ people.

Reuters photojournalists were in the field capturing Pride celebrations around the world, from Paris to Bangkok to Washington, DC.

In Skopje, North Macedonia, Ognen Teofilovski photographed a person laying on a rainbow flag as people took part in the second Gay Pride parade.

Jose Cabezas photographed a participant attending the LGBT Pride parade in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Sarah Meyssonnier captured participants holding flares during the traditional LGBTQ Pride march in Pantin near Paris.

In Vienna, Austria, revellers took part in the annual Rainbow Parade, a pride parade to support the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) people, photographed by Lisi Niesner.

Erin Scott captured U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff attending an LGBTQ + Pride event in Washington, DC.

Kyiv, Ukraine, Serhii Nuzhnenko photographed activists holding a rally demanding state support for the local LGBTQ+ community outside the presidential office headquarters.

Soe Zeya Tun photographed an LGBT couple taking photos of each other on a rainbow flag-themed path during Pride Month at Samyan MRT station in Bangkok, Thailand.
