Last year's launch of the Reuters Digital Journalism Course, produced in partnership with the Meta Journalism Project, has seen nearly 100,000 journalists register for the course to date - reaching participants in over 42 countries.

Following its success, the free online training course will expand into 12 more countries and territories and will be made available in additional languages including Swahili, Ahmaric, Traditional Chinese, Hindi, Turkish, Bangla, Tamil, Filipino, Polish, German, Spanish and Italian – totaling 18 languages. The expansion will aim to provide support to many more news communities around the world.

"With news media firmly in the digital age, being able to use digital platforms safely and effectively is essential," said Simon Robinson, Global Managing Editor, News Publishing at Reuters. "The Reuters Digital Journalism Course offers best practices from Reuters journalists and has equipped over 57,000 thousand professionals with critical skills to help further their careers".

The Reuters Digital Journalism Course provides free online training for journalists to improve their digital newsgathering, verification and publishing skills, as well as access to wellness and resilience resources. New and seasoned journalists alike will benefit from compelling learning materials and hands-on tutorials across four modules: Digital Newsgathering; Verification and Reporting; Publishing Effectively on Social Media and Wellness and Resilience.
