Reuters was named the second-most influential source by the EU Media Poll 2022 for providing news and information European Union influencers need to make informed decisions.
Seventy-seven percent of survey respondents named Reuters influential in 2022, a 10 percentage-point increase from 2020. Reuters rose from fifth to second in the 2022 poll behind POLITICO and ahead of the Financial Times, the Economist and the BBC.
Decision-makers who consider Reuters very influential cited its trustworthiness as a key factor. This outcome is a testament to Reuters dedication to upholding the Trust Principles and our commitment to accuracy and impartiality in our journalism.
The EU Media Poll 2022 surveys EU decision-makers - Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), EU officials and opinion formers - on the sources of news and information they rely on to make their decisions. The poll, conducted by BCW Brussels and Savanta ComRes, also explores how media and social media compare with other sources of influence, including professional colleagues, personal contacts and events.
